Just thought it would do a quick update my tenant was greateful I'm considering letting her stay at reduced rent and doesn't see any issue with staying there during the sale process. She has however asked what the price is as she would like to buy it so we are getting the estate agent around now. I feel I have a few options now and it has been good to get the views on here.

Make sure you aren't signed up to any contract. It may be cheaper to get a surveyor to do an appraisal.

There is no way I would consider a property with a sitting tenant. I can see this ending in tears.

If the property doesn`t sell, and there is economic fallout from Brexit it will be hard to negotiate the rent back up?

Agreed. When we were last house hunting 18 months ago we actually ruled out a nice property purely on this basis.

 During a viewing she may well feel obligated to point out the negative aspects of your property :rotfl:
