Hi there
I recently been caught speeding in Hertfordshire last month on my way to work on rods I had never driven on. where I was given a speed awareness course for 35 in 30 However I haven’t taken it yet. On Saturday by a variable speed camera I was caught on the m25 going 64 in 50 as the speed limit had changed and Its totally my bad. I’ve got no points on my license. I’ve got two weeks left on my new driver probationary period (2 years). Does anyone know what kind of punishment I would receive?
Any comments would be helpful.

3 points and £100 fine if you accept the fixed penalty. If you go to court and lose it will be the same points but cost more.
Get your speed awareness sorted ASAP or that will turn into 3 points too.0 -
I’ve got my driver course booked for the 9th Feb. So I should only get three points and a fine even though I’m a new driver and have been caught twice in 2 months? This is a lesson learned
Thank you0 -

As a long time driver with no points on my licence .... ever, my advice to new drivers is THINK .... excess speeds will not get you where you are going any quicker. You will also use up more fuel
I have a 3.0 engine and it always make me smile when at traffic lights there is a junior revving their 1.6 engine in a bid to be first off, not even seeing what I have already seen .... a police camera van ahead
After your course, don't expect that will be available to you again if you get caught in the next few months.
And as you must declare points to your insurance company, continue getting points and you'll be priced off the road0 -

Correct. The first offence will be dealt with by successfully taking the course. That attracts no points. The second offence will be dealt with by Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty which is 3 points and £100 providing you accept the offer.
Slow down from now on because if you are caught again you will be in a spot of bother0 -
But it doesn't half impress their mates in the back seats, especially the ones in back to front baseball caps, refusing to wear seatbelts!access speeds will not get you where you are going any quicker. You will also use up more fuel
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust .......Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

When buying a new car I've gone from asking "is it fast" to "is it comfy"?0
