How much ESA.

Wondering what a couple would get ESA wise,

Me calming ESA in support group on the letter it says Living expenses for you and your partner £114.85 week,

This is income related, I thought £114.85 was the assessment rate?.

£114.85 is couples rate, on top of this for the Support Group you'll receive £37.65 for being in the support group and £23.55 couples rate Enhanced disability premium. Total amount £176.05 per week, providing no deductions are being taken off.

    Thanks poppy,

    It's a bit more we get £212.05 less £64.60 care so £147.45,

I think what's thrown me is I know of a single person who gets exactly the same amount of ESA they also claim carers allowance I didn't think it was the same for a single person as a couple.

If the single claimant lives alone and receives another qualifying benefit they may also be in receipt of the severe disability premium/B]

Your ESA maximum amount is made up as poppy said plus a carer premium of £36 because your partner is getting Carer’s Allowance, but the Carer’s Allowance itself is then deducted.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

You can't compare yourself to a single person. A person can claim carers allowance for looking after someone and claim the severe disability premium on top of the ESA. Total amount of ESA for someone claiming both of these in the Support Group is £163.15 per week.
