I was under the impression that I would have to obtain a sick note from my doctor ASAP . So , it's best to wait to be contacted by my work coach ?
Sorry to sound so naive .0 -
Thanks poppy
I browsed on the sick note column of my journal this morning ,as I was curious. It is just a standard Date from / to box . Not a place where I wrongly thought I could upload a doctors note etc.
I just looked again , and it's a good job I did as it was listed as a job to do on my journal . All because I never pressed the cancel button.
I've just cancelled that job .
Thanks again for making everything so much clearer . I now understand that, I basically keep inputting my job searching experiences and wait to be summoned to see the work coach at any time . I will fill in the relevant forms that you have kindly mentioned , when I receive them. It is then I will make appointment with doctor to explain my preferred work pattern .
Today is the first week of my universal credit life :eek:0 -
No problem. May i ask do you rent or own your own home?0

Thanks poppy . I own my home, which is a leasehold flat . No mortgage thankfully ,but I have to pay service charges .0

Rather than start a new thread , I would like to ask one more question if I may : I received an email from universal credit telling me that I am not claiming other benefits . The list is long , including Jobseeker's Allowance etc. I assume that as universal credit is a one size fits all approach ,that I don't need to do anything at this stage?
First payment is due next week . Yeah, right :rotfl:
Thanks0 -
Just thought I'd give an update .
I received an email from u c saying that I haven't arranged an appointment at the job centre . U c seem to be based in Antrim .
So, I got the no. Of Poole job centre and arranged an interview .
I went on Friday 1st March . The people couldn't be more helpful.
I was advised to get a fit note from the doctors.
I received my first u c payment of £315.16 from u c on the 5th March
I saw Mrs doctor on weds 13 th March . I have been given a fit note for six months initially . This has been forwarded to uc online .
I need to bring the original to Poole job centre . I have an appointment in mid April. Hopefully ok till then .
On Friday 15th March I brought passport/ bank details etc to Poole council tax office .
I seem to have done the necessary first steps . I'll see how it goes, but can't relax too much as it's very early days ..0
