BW Legal Claim - Have a valid ticket
Comments

Thanks for your reply,
The defendant , my wife, was the driver but is not the registered keeper, I purchased the ticket and am not the registered keeper or was i the driver.0 -
Do they know who the driver is? Yes or No
If NO, then edit your post above.0 -
They know that my wife 'the defendant' was the driver, but it was I 'a passenger' that purchased the ticket.
So that line should read:
2.1. The Defendant did not purchase the ticket. A passenger paid for the parking but entered only part of the registration number, instead of the full registration number of the car.

is that correct, or not worth even mentioning ?
thanks so much

As a judge is likely to review an incorrect VRN as a trifle
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_minimis
imo it is unlikely that their claim would succeed. You have paid the fee, and it is difficult to see how you have damaged them, especially as the the technology is available to prevent wrong VRNs being entered. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Hi all
I have a similar situation however in my case the machine did not print any reg number on the ticket – dispensed it without. Parking Eye ignored my appeal supplying a scan of the ticket as proof of my payment and refuting the contravention. BWLegal now continue to send multiple Letter Of Claim just changing the response date and state it’s my accountability to have a valid ticket – which I thought I had. I have now asked them to submit to me all the documents they have proving that 1) I, as the customer was made aware of my accountability in this regard and 2) instructions on how I would resolve an issue where payment is taken and a ticket is produced omitting the registration number might be resolved.I guess based on the above I should attend any court date scheduled and write to my MP – anything else I can do?
Big thanks

You need to start your own thread using the NEW DISCUSSION button on the main page for this parking form, as this is not your case and ParkingEye ones are different (and AFAIK, they don't use BW Legal!)?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
