Overdrawn charges - changing my account

Yes, I've been very foolish and for some bizarre reason, I didn't change my 'Current Account' to a 'Student Account' before I started my degree, and almost inevitably, I've gone overdrawn.
I'm with a popular high-street bank, and they charge me £30 for everytime I do go overdrawn. So I guess I just pay this charge?
Can I then change my account to a student one, where they have no charges for going overdrawn for the three years of studying.
Would appreciate some advice, before I land myself in further debt at 18 years old...
