Where do I buy bricks / aerated blocks from?

Hi,
I have been looking for a way to save on the cost of building aerated blocks or bricks as I need some for 60 sqm of wall and I can only seem to find them from B&Q & Wickes.

Is there anywhere else where one can look? possibly somewhere where they have cheaper prices.

I'm in Birmingham.

Thank you.

    Builders merchants.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.
  • Look at Ebay

Possibly strange but there are a fair number of "virtual" builder's merchants selling this stuff. They buy it using their trade discount and the order actually gets delivered to you from Jewsons, etc on a pallet. They don't have to be local to you either (although obviously the Jewsons or whatever does).

Get online. There are loads of online builders merchants.

Or go and get a price from Cambabest in Bordesley Green. They're cheap. Utterly disorganised, but dirt cheap. Just order in advance.

You want to stay away from the DIY sheds and use a proper builders merchant.

Agree with above...Builders Merchants is the way to go.

I use EH Smiths in Cannock who deliver around the Midlands. Easy to deal with and will collect any unused items (-10% restocking). They also refunded me when i had some broken blocks in a order i had with them.

Don't forget to haggle - I often get quotes from multiple suppliers and play them off against each other until I get a price I'm happy with.
