I joined the forum today hoping for some friendly advice but actually I feel that all I received are personal and quite frankly rude comments so I'll just sign off.

Unfortunately many people don't like being told the facts if they disagree with what they want the result to be. No-one's memory is perfect, you've simply not got a photographic memory of events from 23 years ago as you'd expect. You've had your money back and the 8% interest element, you cannot expect to be able to make a claim on the policy on top of a refund based on your complaint that the policy was miss-sold, that's simply illogical.

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
