CCL have it for just under £30.

I've used them many times and can recommend them.

    Are you sure? I would've thought a socket-478 P4 - even at lower clock speed - would be faster/preferable.

What's the model of your Dell PC please? G

Edit 1: Be aware that chuckles1066's link is for a socket-775 CPU.

Edit 2: From this Intel Celeron D info you need a Celeron D 350

Looks like this is the motherboard in your 1100. At the max it may take a P4 socket-478 3.6Ghz. But it could be overkill for the rest of the system & your needs, you may need a PSU upgrade & it could be too expensive/hard to get (except on eBay maybe?). Of course, you don't have to necessarily go for that - a P4 3Ghz could do nicely instead.

Any particular reason for wanting to upgrade the CPU? What speed Celeron do you presently have? Adding more RAM may be the way to go for a quick, easy boost. G
