Engineer missed my service appointment - what rights?

I had a boiler service booked for today, what rights do I have (if any) if the engineer cancels the appointment late morning? Am I entitled to any compensation or am I just expected to re book an alternative date?

It will depend of what the T&C's say and who is the servicing company.

Some companies (some of the larger energy firms for instance) will have a service quality/compensation scheme and others will just say tough - you need to check with the company that you contracted to do the service to find out whether they'll compensate you or not.

    Speak to them

I stayed in once all day for a boiler service from British gas only for them to call me at 4.45pm to cancel it..

I complained due to having rebooked all work meetings to accomodate them.

    I was awarded £50.
