There's a whole subdivision of the HiFi industry dedicated to speaker stands

Assuming they have a flat base, which they seem to do, anything with a flat top that's equal to or larger than the speaker base. Or use what seems to be a bracket on the back

Ideally you want them to be at ear height for your listening position, so take rough measurement for that, and ...

You're best placed to answer that, since you'll have both products in your hands, but from the pics it looks fine. You'll want to play with how far in you screw to keep the speaker pinned in as much as possible to the stand.

Looks OK. If the bolt head is too small, a couple of washers might need to be added

A circular one right ? There's a few different sizes of washers on screwfix, which would be the most likely one to use ?

IT might come with some. i'll see how it goes anyway

I have the " keyhole " style fitting, it looks straightforward but i cannot figure out how you would tighten the bolt which goes into the speaker as the side you put the screwdriver in to tighten it is backwards.

I'm guessing you screw it through first into the hole/washer and then just hook it onto the speaker ?

A couple of breeze blocks is a good option (assuming you want them low). They also look a lot better painted

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?

Match the distance you screw it in to the thickness of the back of the speaker (X). Trial and error may be required.

I think once you have the speaker hooked on, and have some friction between screw head and speaker, grip the shaft of the screw, and turn it by hand to tighten it as far as you can, then you can tighten the nut, and (within reason) the screw head will grip the speaker and not rotate.

Have you seen the size of the speakers? I think one brick would be more appropriate!
