How long estate take to get paid out?

Hello,

The estate in question is going through solicitors as its under a Will.

Probate has been granted and the buyer is completing payment to our solicitors on the 18th.

My question is how long estimate will it take a soliticor to find out from 3rd parties if there is any outstanding debts and get everything thats owed paid off?

I know its mainly dependant on how quickly 3rd parties get back to us ie DWP and HMRC. Just after a ruff estimated time that others have gone through.

  • For us there was no will but for everything in total it took a year and a half.

If probate has been granted the executors must be satisfied that outstanding debts have been settled.

    Who is the buyer??

A typical timescale, expecially if solicitors are involved, is 12 months from the death, although earlier partial payouts are often possible.
