I need help!!

Options
So I've been recieving letters to my address that are in someone I knows name, now this is a big debt. And said person is not interested  the last letter stated a default was being put on address for 6 years! Is there something I can do?? I've called company and explained all this. They told me the letters would stop but they continue to send. Company is Scottish power.
Sorry if this makes no sence

The letter didn't say a default would be put in the address. It will be applied to the individual's credit files.

    Just bin them.
  • A default is applied to an individual and not an address. So it should not effect you.

Do you regularly check your credit report with the three CRAs?

Why are they being sent to where you live ?

Did the person provide your address ?
  • Why are you opening mail addressed to someone else as well?

If we receive mail to our address which is not ours I just return it not known at this address, return to sender. Why not do that then they will be forced to deal with it.

Why not ? No law against it and it seems the addressee wants to drag OP into their debt problems ;)

If you know the address of the person then tell SP where they live.
  • Because the person is very ignorant and doesn't care,
  • Because I've returned at least 5 to sender and called company and they keep sending them
  • I have been doing that since August, I have also called the company and explained. Still letters come
  • We do not know address, and they will not provide. They just shrug it off, that's why I'm here
