Why have they done that? They might have changed my copy?

Because on weekdays you stay at your mother's, who lives 'somewhere else'?

Because it is easier to travel to 'somewhere else' and parking is easier there.

Use a relative's address for service that's in another county and choose that court. Obviously you do not say it's your relative's address (it is your address, isn't it).
