Help to buy and LISA?

Hi so me and my girlfriend have decided to start saving for a deposit now. She has already opened her help to buy isa account and I’m busy looking to set up a LISA as tha suits my saving and income style better and I was wondering can you use a help to buy isa and a LISA on the same house? As I know you can you a help to buy isa each on a property but I can’t find anything and using one of each. Thanks

    I'm no expert, but you can use two LISA's as far as I've read, and you can use two Help to Buy ISA's so by that logic one would guess you can use one HTB and one LISA. I'm sure others may be best placed to correct me though!



    Just remember that a LISA can only be used after 12 months or you incur the penalty for withdrawal.
  • I agree with Rijack, We are using 2 LISA's on our property purchase so i would assume you could combine HTB Isa & LISA.

    You can combine them but remember the purchase price cant be more than £250k out of London, seem to remember it being £450k in London with Help to Buy ISA. Will this work for you?

    We've just done exactly that. My husband was too late opening his LISA (<12 months ago) so he used help to buy, and I've used a LISA.

    If you're able to do it, you'd get a better return from maxing out two LISAs as you can pay more in each year.
