If you are that worried and you have the mortgage details. Which you do as you’ve been opening their mail pay your rent directly into the mortgage account. Thus reducing the arrears0

I'd imagine that this is very poor advice.Wanderingpomm wrote: »If you are that worried and you have the mortgage details. Which you do as you’ve been opening their mail pay your rent directly into the mortgage account. Thus reducing the arrears0 -

And then they get evicted by the landlord for not paying the rent. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
The strong emotions are because the OP knows they will have to probably move at some point, but don't have the funds. They want to use the rent money towards moving costs. The alleged "bullying" is because the kind people on this thread are saying you still have to pay your rent. Someone suggesting calling an organisation who are well versed in these feelings isn't bullying either. It's good advice.Crashy_Time wrote: »Yes, the words "Landlord" and "repossession" can trigger strong emotions in some people. If your landlord can`t get their act together and pay their debts, just give notice and move out, it isn`t worth the stress of going through all the drama with them as their lender takes the house back.0 -
Yeah I have lived here over a year and it's a new build flat in a convenient location to work with a fair rental price. Not really something very common in Edinburgh. I was worried I would have to pack up in very short notice due to no fault of my own but after contacting shelter they say a reposession in my case that led to me being physically evicted would take at least 5 months. I have spoken further to the letting agency and the landlord has said they are sorting it.
I do not have enough saved in the event I would need to pack up in a couple of weeks (which I had assumed). But if I had two months let alone five months I would be in a position that I would have enough saved for a deposit and first month's rent for another property. I have £10000 in unused credit cards including £1000 on a zero balance for another year so I could dip into that in case of an emergency but I am real paranoid about any financial loss or hardship to myself as is apparent for me questioning if I should avoid paying rent.
Now that I know more about this whole process I am not as worried.0 -
I think that you should form a plan to deal with your low mood and suicidal thoughts.
The answers provided so far should be some reassurance and if you are not feeling that vibe then I politely suggest that no answer will work for you. So get some support, come back with a clear mind, and process what is being said. Its really not all bad.0 -

It had probably been kicked back into life by a now-departed spammer.brett19852010 said:So I have. Odd as I did not do a search and thought I was on page 1.
