Mobile phone insurance renewal but in dispute with them

I've had to make a complaint to my insurance company as when I made a claim they said my proof of usage is not correct as the IMEI does not match the one on my policy.
They have stated when I made a claim previously the phone was replaced yet the phone hasn't actually been replaced and still has the same IMEI. I was just getting a computer says no response from them.
The policy is up for renewal now and wondering if I should continue with the insurance until this complaint is resolved but on the other hand, it seems pointless renewing insurance I'm not happy with and you have to commit to a year.
I presume if it goes to the FOS and it turns out I was never able to make a claim due to their mistake I would get the premiums back?

Better to save your money into a savings account and use it when you need a new phone?"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Not in this case as the phone is quite expensive.0
