Is survey needed with NHBC guarantee

Buying first house which has 7 years left of NHBC guarantee. Is a survey needed? Seems there is a lot of conflicting advice about this

when you buy a second hand house, always good to get a survey to check if there are any issues NHBC has caveats to their warranty and not worth what's written on paper imho"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Yes, because there may be some general maintenance that needs undertaking either now or in the near future which would not be covered by NHBC anyway. You need to buy knowing the full picture.0

You absolutely should. Even if NHBC cover it (Extreme italics on if) do you want to be living in a building site for several years knowing that a survey would have told you about it?0
