How long to wait for a refund

Hi
I bought a jacket from an outdoor company online (who are UK high street/shopping centre based), before Christmas. The online order took over 8 working days to deliver to store, so in end I purchased elsewhere, as it was a Christmas present.
I emailed the company just before Christmas to cancel the order, as I haven’t collected the item from instore.
As of writing I still haven’t been refunded. I got a reply in new year saying Head Office having trouble contacting the store.
I paid by Credit card, I gather on DSR they have 30 days to get refunded, it’s approaching that date. Going into a store isn’t going to solve this issue, but I never had to deal with such incompetent service.
If I get no joy from the company, what is next recommended plan in these instances?
