Quote For New Boiler

I have been quoted the following, does it look about right,

New Worcester 40CDI boiler

New vertical flue (Old flue in contravention of current regs)

Control system comprising electronic programmer, 3 port valve cylinder thermostat and room thermostat.

Gundfoss UPS 15/60 pump and valves

9 Thermostatic valves to radiators 9 (these are the ones on which we do not already have TRV)

Change pipework to 22mm (Existing to the boiler is 15mm, suply to house is 22mm)

Power cleanse system.

Price £3,113.75

British gas have quoted well in excess of this.

With only 9 or so radiators, why do you think you need such a powerful boiler? what do you have at the moment?

Sorry, we have a large five bedroom house with additional study and games room, the nine radiators were the only ones without TRV, so thought we would replace these when the system was being flushed.

What do you think is the price OK?

The price is pretty good, more or less what I would quote. This is of course dependant on where you are located.

Apologies for being a bit dim but are you having 9 new radiators with your boiler, or just adding valves to 9 existing rads.

Adding nine TRV to existing rads.

I,ve just been quoted £1,600 for a heat pack from my plumber plus labour which I'm guessing will be about £1k.
    Heatpack comprises:
    Worcester 42CDI
    7 rads inc valves
22mm copper ( not sure exactly how much )

I've got BG coming round to give me a quote for a boiler replacement on Tuesday - from talking to others I think I should expect them to come in at about 5 grand - should be interesting as I cannot see how they'll be able to justify that.

They will justify it by being called British Gas, best thing to do is source the materials yourself and get a local reputable plumber to install.
