Are 'cheap' ceramic wall tiles just as good?

we've seen some ceramic tiles in Bunnings for £9 per sqM, and in other tile places ,similar looking tiles were £30 per sqM. Is a £9 sqM tile any worse than £30 sqM? Its for our small bathroom.
We love the look of the tiles, but dont want to buy something that is cheap for a reason

Within the same outlet there may be a difference but between different sellers not necessarily. I've bought plenty of 'budget' tiles that were absolutely fine.
What you may notice in some cheaper ones is that the back ceramic colour shows through because the coating is very thin.
Another issue I came across once was tile size not being uniform. Just the odd mm or two out can cause you grievance.0 -
Just check that the surface of the tile extends all the way to cover the edges. I've found some cheap tiles where it's just the face that is glazed so when you have them on the wall you can still see the unglazed finish at the edges even when grouted.0
