14days to respond to Claim Form

I need some clarification on whether I just messed up my days to respond or whether the courts did, and if they did, what do I do about it.
I received a claim form dated on the 17th Dec. It states I had 14 days to respond with the first day starting 5 days from the date on the letter, so the 21st Dec. CCJ was entered on the 9th Jan. It's the 11th Jan today when I sat down to do the paperwork and had this surprise. By my counting the courts have not taken into account Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New years day.

Issue date 17 Dec
Service date 22 Dec
14 days are up on 5 Jan
You could have acknowledged service and extended the date to 19 Jan.
Were you intending to defend or offer payment by instalments?
If you are in a position to pay this off in full before 9 Feb it will not show on your credit file.0 -
ah ok, so the public holidays were counted as part of the 14day period. That sucks. I may just about have enough to cover the full amount before the 9th Feb. Just got to figure out exactly who to contact for payment, the solicitors or the company making the claim. Should have smashed this out before Christmas.0

Of course - it doesn’t state working days.
Contact the company who you received last contact from - likely the solicitors.
Lowell by any chance?0
