It is not a fine.
The advice to ignore has not been given here since the law changed in 2012.
Edit your post to remove information about who parked. Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper who are two different people.
The Keeper has protection in law that The Driver does not.
The Keeper, who may have been an occupant of the car, should complain to the store manager that a genuine customer is being scammed by an unregulated company.
All the information you need can be found in the sicky thread for NEWBIES. You need to read this thoroughly.
I suggest you send the appeal template in blue from The Keeper that you will find in the NEWBIES. It will no doubt be rejected for being late, but it is important to engage the scammers should they later try court.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

NEWBIES thread already tells everyone to:
- appeal using the template shown in the sticky thread, and
- ALWAYS complain to the landowner/retailer who took the pointless PPC on.
Not sure why people post at this stage, when the sticky thread is clear on the action.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
