Hi,
Can anyone share some advice about what I'd need to do/pay after selling my flat? It's been on the open market for nearly a year. Only had 2 viewings and I'm seriously considering going to quick selling company just to get it sold but I'm not sure if I'd be able to keep all the money after the mortgage ect is paid off or if I'd need to give the Tax Man some or what legal things I'd need to do after it's sold.. anyone help?

you will need to pay for the conveyancing of the sale - I paid about £500 on a 300k sale only. There is no need to pay the tax man anything if it was your main residence.
Don't go to the quick sellling companies - try other agents and drop the price first0 -
No tax, provided it was your main residence.
Legal costs for conveyancing.
Estate agent fees for finding a buyer.
Redemption fee from mortgage lender.
Early redemption fee from mortgage lender if on a special mortgage deal.
Removal company for moving out.
Rather than go to a quick-buy company, just reduce the asking price with the estate agent - you'll get more that way.0 -
Hi,
I've dropped the price already but it's still not shifted. It's not been my main residence since October, in that case could I have to pay tax man now or other legal fees?0 -
I will ask before someone else does, want to post a link for some advice? Ignore what Crashy says drop it by £20k obviouslyAn answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......0

The buyer pays tax (stamp duty) not the you.
You do pay the Estate Agent commission, conveyancing, moving and storage costs. They may surprise you so get quotes.0
