VPN and/or Static IP?

I have a question about using a VPN. I have tried using Windscribe, because I want better privacy (just that; I'm not doing anything dodgy!). The problem is that with Windscibe switched on, the online banking sites that I use fail to recognise the device and/or browser, and keep on asking me for extra confirmation that it's me, by phone or email. Turning it on and off every time is too complex for me and OH.
I use Plusnet broadband, and I've noticed that they offer a static IP address for a one-off payment of £5. If I use this, and use Windscribe too, will I be equally private? And will the banks recognise me?
I would appreciate a knowledgeable response, TIA.

A static IP address will be of no use, as soon as you enable the VPN, your apparent IP address will be whatever/wherever the VPN endpoint is. I suspect you will have the same issue with banking sites.
Your browser connection to the banking sites will be using HTTPS anyway, this should provide adaquate privacy without the need to use VPN.0 -

How is it better privacy, if you're sending all your banking info via a dodgy VPN rather than a legitimate ISP that complies with UK law?0
