Postal orders will be safest as once you've cashed them the money is yours.
Safest for you as a seller is not Paypal. If there is any dispute Paypal will side with the buyer and take the money back.
Cheques can be fraudulent and it will take weeks after the money has cleared in your account for the banks to work it out and they will take the money back.
Bank transfer should be ok as long as you wait a few days after the moeny has gone in (BACS payments can be reveresed for a few days after the moeny has gone through - ask me about people who quit their job on the day their annual bonus has gone through only to find the money dissapears again)

From a sellers point of view the only completely safe payment method is a direct bank transfer but make sure you don't send the phone until the next day after payment shows in your account.
However, as that method cannot be called back by the buyer virtually all buyers are reluctant to use it and will always choose sellers who take paypal.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I'd suggest bank transfer.....but would wait at least 3 working days before sending, just in case of any issues...and as soolin says...absolutely make sure the money is in your bank account before sending.
Why is it that what appears to be 95% of all frauds involve buyers of mobile phones???
