My iPad 2 is feeling its age. I think I should buy a new tablet. Any recommendations? I only use it for email checking, and fun. Any heavy duty stuff is done on my pc.

  • Just bought the Apple iPad 9.7 2018. Works perfectly and a very good price for what you get inside.

    and fun.
    That's a very open-ended statement ... what constitutes "fun"?

And are you embedded in the Apple ecosystem or would you consider Android?
    What's your budget?

Upgraded my iPad 3 to the 2018 iPad and am very happy.

Mostly used for games and Netflix/streaming.

Fun = just messing about. It's easier to check emails, news, read Ebooks, shop, check MSE and other social media on the iPad than to fire up my pc, which is reserved for serious stuff. I tend to use the iPad whilst having my morning tea.

And no, I'm not plugged into the Appleverse, though I do use an old iPhone. Budget = cheap. I'm going to be very reluctant to spend 300 quid on a tablet, just because it's easier to use when I'm travelling, in bed or half watching tv.

How long you had this iPad 2 because it was realeased 2011.

Let’s say you had it for 5 years so if you buy the new iPad for £320 and you keep that device for 5 years it works out at less than 18p a day. For what you do on the iPad is it worth the value of 18p a day.

For me it’s a no brainer I would buy it.
