fantastic rate, however. With all the trouble in the money markets - and much more to ensue - you never know, we could still see fixed rate bonds reach seven per cent (as we did a month ago). I will wait for the convenience of a BS that i know - probably Nationwide (they were doing 6.70, now 6.50)BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

This may sound odd but BM have always annoyed me by the way they keep tinkering with the interest rates on their one year fixed bonds. One day it is 6.7% next it is 6.8x% and now it is 6.92%. I know I should not complain about rates going up but if I put money into what looks like the best account and then they come out with a newer better version I feel a bit of a fool. of course if I knew when the music was going to stop (or the rates start to go down) it would be different. Ho hum0

I have just taken out a one year fixed rate bond them - in fact at the beginning of this week - and I am getting 6.86%, so feel a bit miffed that it has changed so quickly.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0

I agree about them changing the rate so soon, I had a 1 year bond with them and as soon as I took it, the rate changed and I asked them if I could have the new rate, but of course they said no. Well, I might wait to see if they go up any higher before I decide, of course you could wait forever doing that!
The Nationwide bond requires you to have a current account with them.0 -
^and i do, which is why i would actually favor NW even though the rate is lower.BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

they change rates to leap over other best buy 1 year fixes, this time round it was to leap over 6.90% derbyshire 1 year fixed.
birmingham midshires are actually talking 1 year fixed rates up by keep leaping over other best buy 1 year fixes.0 -
I've already got 2 BM bonds with just £10 in - the rates went up so quick I didn't have time to deposit any more! Shall I open this one too, or will it be closed again just as quick. Hmm...0
