Hi,
I have been offered a job with one of the big 4 in Sydney Australia.
Do you know if they will be able to access my UK credit file from Australia?
Thanks very much.

They may want to if they have a UK subsidiary.
Is there something on there they shouldn't be seeing?0 -
99% sure it's a no, I live here (Australia) and my UK credit file is completely separate to my Aussie one, even though some of the CRAs are the same (EQ and EX).
By "big 4" I assume you mean banks, as in either ANZ, NAB, Westpac or Commbank? NAB own Yorkshire Bank/Clydesdale, but that shouldn't mean anything.
EDIT - the one company which can get some info, though only its own data, is Amex, but even they have to contact the division in the other country (as in Amex AU have to contact Amex UK, to get your account history in the UK to make a lending decision for an AU card). That is beneficial for global transfer, which helps get an Amex card overseas with no history in the new country, if you have an established Amex in the first country.0 -

Are you asking the question in anticipation of you being asked or have you been asked if they can do it ?
Why are you asking, are you a UK or Aus resident ?
If UK they must surely know this and will have a means to do it.0 -

Yes in anticipation.
I'm currently a UK resident but have been offered a job in Australia.
I thought there was privacy laws but what do I know?0 -

Hi,
Big 4 I mean PwC, KPMG etc.
I have a satisfied CCJ from 4 years ago but throughout the whole process they have not asked me to declare any info relating to it.
They haven't specifically referenced financial checks (they have others inc Police, regulatory which will all be fine) but in the UK these are usually done.0 -

Good luck with the application.
Why not see if they ask.0
