I am seriously considering a DRO. Stepchange have said I qualify but I have a few questions to put my mind at rest.
1. My daughter is severely disabled and I am her carer, I claim Universal Credit and PIP on her behalf as I am her benefit appointee, can this continue if I have a DRO in place? Will the payments going into my bank for her be classed as my income? I’m guessing not but just want to check.
2. My older daughter has a car which is registered in my name, we did this for insurance purposes as she is learning to drive and it’s the only way we could get her insured on a provisional license. She 100% paid for the car and it is 100% her responsibility, but do I need to declare it as mine as it is registered in my name?
3. I have had a CCJ issued a few weeks ago demanding payment of £100 a month before the 27th January. I have appealed this amount, but I’m not sure if I did it in time. If I pay the £100 which I can’t afford does this not show preference for a creditor?
Thanks in advance

1. Her money is her money. It's not your income and I don't see why that arrangement could not continue.
2. The registered keeper is not necessarily the owner. You only have to declare ownership. Having said that, you are allowed one car worth under £1000 anyway.
3. You could argue that it's not a preference as you're doing it under a court order. But given you're allowed to have savings (as part of your other asset limit) up to £1000 and need £90 for the DRO fee, I wouldn't pay it. If you need to buy time and your previous application (whatever it was) didn't work, you can apply to vary the order and on UC you would probably not have to pay a fee.
