    I don't know how clued up your sister is but, if I knew her details, I could obtain a copy of your mother's death certificate. You may want to empty all her accounts into somewhere 'safer'.
  • My understanding is the debts should be the sister's as they appear to have been fraudulently obtained by the sister using the mother's name although it's for the OP to decide if he wants to open that can of worms. Maybe a threat of putting it in the hands of the Police may convince her to have them deducted from her share.
    The OP reds to be very careful that they don’t get accused of helping conceal the fraud.

    A very valid point although I doubt it would go any further if any creditors got their money back in full.
