Issues since windows automatic updates

Options
My laptop updated today and since Im having issues with some websites.

Facebook for instance is not showing a full page and wont allow me to click on 'Log out' nor will it load photos or games.

I think it may be to do with Adobe flash player and have been trying to check that.

On the Adobe site it says 'Flash Player disabled on this pc' and so I have followed the instructions to enable it and it tells me to go to Advance Settings and 'Move the toggle to ON'. However when I do that it shows it is already on.

Can anyone advise please. Thanks.

It's always best when asking questions like this to keep the operating system and web browser that you're using a secret.

I very much doubt its due to the updates otherwise the usage of Facebook would have dropped through the floor.

The first rule of "websites don't work" is either try another browser and/or make a new profile in that browser (if you're using Chrome or Firefox), but it seems to me you're using Windows 10 and Edge because I'm not aware of anything else that uses a "toggle" for Flash.
  • Many of us don’t have Adobe Flash installed as it has been plagued with security issues in the past and decent web authors have long since discarded it.

Check your browser and A/V settings, many sites are now using a secure setting and failing when the browser/AV checks their credentials.

Flash will drop out of support by the end of 2020:

Security wise, yes it has more holes in it than Swiss Cheese, its sort of a "feature" of Flash and has been for years.

Of course what happens to the majority of Flash games after 2020 remains to be seen, what with no plugin to use them. Admittedly most of these are crap anyway so no great loss but I can foresee a large page on the Lost Media Wiki in 2021 about some of these :)
