Good evening,
today i received a letter from the county in relation to a debt I'm in dispute about.
the debt said it was taken out when i wasn't living at the address and a few pounds a months were paid back over a number of years.
however, this debt is meant to be a door stop lender called provident credit.
the concern i now have is for £851 or receive a CCJ.
my credit file is very positive and i dont normally have issues with obtaining credit or finance.
my question would be......
1. whats the likely hood of me disputing the dealt and winning?
2. would it be better to just pay the amount off and hope to deal with it in the future?
any advice would be fantastic
Regards

Hi Garry
its a door stop lender apparently0 -
So did you take it out or not?0

...its a door stop lender apparently
Edit: And have you checked against all three CRA credit files for this account?I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job0 -
so the debt isnt mine. i never took this out.
i'm inclined to fight it in the courts however i dont wont to risk loosing and obtaining a CCJ0 -
If the debt isn't yours, then dispute it.
However this cannot possibly be the first correspondence you've had about it."Facism arrives as your friend. It will restore your honour, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up the neighbourhood, remind you of how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you... [it] doesn't walk in saying, "our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."0 -
Hi Gaz.
It’s not the first letter I’ve had. In the past I’ve tried to dispute it but Lowell’s don’t really care0 -
Send them a prove-it letter asking to prove it’s yours0

If you don't fight it you are going to lose so you may as well fight it. You will only get a CCJ if you lose and don't pay up in one month of the judgement.0
