Being added onto a tenancy agreement

Helpppppp!!!
I have a DMP (£470 a month) which is very affordable to me but because of this I obviously have a bad credit rating. My partner has asked me to move in with him (rented property) he has been there for almost a year with no issues. He is financially secure and didn't need a guarantor when he started his tenancy. I understand I will need to be added onto the tenancy agreement, my DMP is calculated to pay £600 a month to rent etc so this easily covers half the rent on his place with bills etc included. My worry is that will I fail referencing checks with the letting agent when I'm added on? My parents can be guarantors if needed (they are both employed and own their home outright) but I'm really worried I will be turned down even with a guarantor!! I'm losing sleep. Has anyone ever had any experience with this before???

You can just live there - legal status 'guest' - for as long as you want , my DMP is calculated to pay £600 a month to rent etc so this easily covers half the rent on his place with bills etc included. I thought that being a permanent resident and contributing to bills would mean I need to be added to the agreement, is this not the case?0
