    Your post is not exactly helpful. Perhaps back it up with advice rather than just questioning! Would be in the spirit of the forums

    Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 ... is that more helpful? ;)

    I just wanted to add on, after our hassle with our builders I decided to channel my frustration into trying to make something positive out of it and have started a government petition to introduce compulsory regulation for domestic tradespeople as well as an independent ombudsman to resolve situations just like this.
