No exit fee when moving home?
I moved home on the 23rd November & I terminated my energy supply with OVO but switched to them in my new property. I assumed that I would be charged £30 per fuel for ending my fixed term contract early. I have had no confirmation of this, so I have just checked their website & it appears that they do not charge exit fees when moving home. Is this correct?

Depends on the tariff and the supplier: Some tariffs are not transferable so if you move home your account could be cancelled and then you will have to sign up again. That's exactly what Scottish Power did when I moved home and I did not have to pay exit fees.0

No exit fee s charged by my two separate suppliers when I moved home a few years back..That was on BG and Robin Hood Energy...My new home was BG and was put on their variable tariff so no exit fee when I switched a few weeks later from BG to Eon0

The account was not transferable & I had to sign up again. The terms & conditions can be found here https://www.ovoenergy.com/terms & it says:
18.5 You do not have to pay us a termination fee if:
(a) you have to end your fixed plan because you have moved house;0 -

Ah right ok. The terms & conditions do say:
18.5 You do not have to pay us a termination fee if:
(a) you have to end your fixed plan because you have moved house.0 -

In contrast, there is no prohibition on a supplier applying early exit fees due to a house move, but the vast majority of suppliers do agree within their terms to waive the early exit fees if that is the reason for terminating a fixed term contract early0
