Unable to Sell Shared Ownership property

I'm in desperate need of help!

I purchased a shared ownership flat nearly 2 years ago. I own 50% and Homes England own the other 50%. After the sale all admin goes to a third party who then deal with you after if you want to sell or buy more of a percentage.

For the past 8 months the third party have claimed they have no information on the block of flats I live in and can not get confirmation from Homes England either. I have provided the third party with invoices from Homes England (for buildings insurance) but my requests for updates and help just get ignored.

My personal circumstances have changed and I must move but I'm now stuck and unable to sell or rent.

I really do not know what else to do and can not afford to pay a solicitor to try and deal with the admin failure of Homes England.

Any suggestions, help or previous experiences would be much appreciated. TIA

Write a letter to HomeS England stating it is a letter before action, inform them of the work you have already undertaken and the issues you are having and demand they put it right or you will seek legal advice.

Who do you pay your rent to? It looks as though Homes England are a government body, not a housing provider.
Contact whoever you pay your rent to and ask the to confirm what the process is if you wish to sell your property.
All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)
  • I currently do not pay rent as part of the deal was that rent isn’t paid for the first 5 years. I have tried to contact homes England but to no avail.
