There are a lot of people out there who are expecting their "smart" meters to save them bothering with bill checking and meter reading and then getting a very nasty surprise whn they find out that it hasn't been working as it should.

We've had it for quite a while with payments meeting our usage as expected, including over a switch from First Utility to Tonik, and even though it was SMETS1, has been picked up to be used for automated readings by new supplier, so I think we're OK. But thanks for the tip!

i wont have one. and hopefully never will.
i'm regimented on providing readings every month. i'm also careful on how much energy i use. so i see no real benefit in having one.
i actually see it more as a hazard having one when seeing news on bodged installations, the mess that can be made and recent news on higher levels of electromagnetic radiation being emitted from these units.
