Hi All
Due to a change in policy at work, anyone not living within 1.5 hours from the office has to pay to get to work. I live in northern ireland and the cost to me is flight, hotel , car park at airport, car hire weekly. I travel a lot with work and they will pay all my travel but only from London I am moving into a flat at the beginning of Feb and wondered if I can get tax relief on any of the extra costs for me to go to work. Can anyone give me some advice? Thank you.

Sorry - people who live within 1.5hrs of the office DO get paid to travel to work? That's a benefit in kind, and they'll be paying tax on that.0

As far as I'm aware, you are (rightly) not entitled to relief for commuting.
Why should I pay for your travel.0
