No reply after first online appeal

Hi all.
I am a newbie, and have read through many Newbie threads but cant find exactly the answer that I'm looking for, so hoping you can help.
On 10th September 2018 I received a windscreen PCN from UKPC for £100. At the time I was working for Aldi and I had a parking permit from them displayed in my window which is clearly shown in the evidence pictures they took. I hadn't been working for the company long and was told by the staff that the permit was valid for the Aldi Staff bays and any other bay except residential numbered bays. I was not in a numbered bay. I immediately appealed the charge online the next day with my reason. I received a confirmation email for the submission stating I would receive a response from them within 35 days.
I then didn't hear anything until 12th November 2018, 63 days later, when I received a Notification Letter stating they hadn't received payment and I should make payment within 14 days. As I had made an appeal but hadn't heard anything, I ignored this letter thinking it was a mistake and the appeal was still ongoing.
Next I had the letter from DRP on 27th November, 15 days after the Notification Letter, telling me it has been passed to them and I now owe £160. At this I panicked and that's when I found the posts on this forum about ignoring letters from DRP, so that is what I did!
I have now received 2 more letters form DRP, latest one dated 2nd January for Final Chance to Pay by 16th January.
I have done a bit more reading of posts on here and am now wondering if I should have done more at the beginning when I didn't get a decision regarding my first appeal, because I should have received a POPLA code if it was rejected.
So I am basically asking if I should attempt to contact UKPC to ask why they didn't reply to my first online appeal and perhaps try the appeal again, or if I really should keep ignoring the DRP letters?
I eagerly await your help and advice!
Thanks

Ignore debt collector letters. If you work(ed) for Aldi, why not demand (politely) that they get it cancelled.0
-
I immediately spoke the manager and he said he had also received a charge before, Aldi refuse to pay or have anything to do with it as it's a separate company, not their land I assume. He said he didn't pay his either, but I left the company so I'm unsure how far his non payment went!
Do you think it is worth contacting UKPC to query why there was no decision to the online appeal?
How likely is it that I will have court proceedings if I ignore the letters, and will it go against me that I didn't contact UKPC sooner to get a POPLA code?0 -
you need to stop being soft and stop ignoring the problem, your inaction could make it worse and YES they could try court, so start being pro-active now
for a start IGNORE drpl, they are powerless, read post #4 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread about debt collectors and IGNORING them
start doing something proper now, by reading the NEWBIES thread again and emailing a complaint to the BPA AOS (and/or Steve Clarke) mentioning a brief timeline of events, that an online appeal was made and no rejection + POPLA code came back, no correspondence whatsoever, a breach of their CoP
Include copies of all paperwork with the timeline and your complaint
also email a SAR to the DPO at UKPC and get all their data on you , any paperwork they sent you, a copy of the online appeal that was made, the rejection + popla code if they posted one, all DATA
stick to the plan of making them backpeddle or better still, cancel due to the work and grief you cause them
and as I said , IGNORE drpl
this should have been done months ago0 -
As this is the fraudster UKPC and you have not received a POPLA code and now being harrassed by the morons DRP, you need to complain to the BPA who UKPC belong to
STEVE CLARK .... steve.c@britishparking.co.uk
This is not the first time UKPC have failed in their duty
DRP ....... TOTAL MORONS .... IGNORE

Hi,
I hope your well. I had a similar situation happen to me I was on my own driving with my daughter and she was crying so I went to a retail park to park my car. However, since it was Christmas there was no parking which I could see close to the shop so I quickly parked in a disabled spot which I know was wrong to go buy formula and feed her. This was only for health and safety reason as I could not drive with a wailing baby. I made a appeal which I did not hear back from. Four weeks later I receive debt collection threats, when I called they were rude and told me I had to pay, one of the guys was talking so rudely constantly asking ‘do you have your bank card?’ You need a lawyer. I was so hurt, then He states I have an email with a space and they did respond to my appeal on the following day when I made the appeal which I believe is a total lie. The email which he mentioned was wrong compared to the one gave, I know this because I got an email confirmation stating that I had made the appeal so they are lying. I’m worried they would take me to court and I don’t know what to do. I have ignored the first two debt collection letters.0 -
My last letter was similar to yours only I had to pay by the 7th of January 20190

Word it as a complaint about UKPC, with all of the above detail, including the person being rude & intimidating on the phone, and show proof that you appealed, and a copy of the PCN so he can see the details/dates etc.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Please reply with any suggestions
Dear Mr Clark
I write with a complaint regarding the parking company UKPC.
In brief, a windscreen PCN was issued to myself on 10 September 2018 from the above-mentioned company. I appealed the charge on-line on 11 September 2018. To this I received a confirmation email as receipt of the appeal. However, no further correspondence was received regarding a decision on the appeal, no rejection or POPLA code. Instead I received a Notification Letter dated 12 November 2018, 63 days later stating no payment had been made.
When trying to contact UKPC regarding no response to the appeal on the phone number given, there is no clear information how to query this matter.
I am now receiving threatening letters from DRP, causing much distress.
I believe UKPC have failed in their duty by not responding to the appeal, this is a breach of their CoP.
I have forwarded the confirmation email to the appeal submitted, also attached is a copy of the Notification letter received.
Please advise what actions will be taken against UKPC.
Yours faithfully0 -
It looks ok, but why haven't you included the advice given to you by Coupon-mad in post #8 - you won't get better, so why ignore it?Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
