Credit Score query. Talktalk cancelled my broadband order

I moved house 6 days before Christmas! I have also been helping a family member as she has not been seriously ill, so a lot has been going on. With the relief of at last moving house, I saw this good deal with a tv and broadband at Curry's. TV was delivered fine, but the talktalk broadband did not arrive this afternoon. I enquired and Curry's said talktalk appears to have cancelled the order. My credit score had only been partially checked. Forgive me I didn't take better notes. I don't own a credit card and never had any debts... BUT... in the excitment of ordering the broadband I had not yet renewed my tv licence (I did that a full week later) at the new property and at the time I had not added my name to the Electrol Register. Could that be Talktalk reasons? Talktalk had technical issues so could help me with my enquires. Is the reason because I stupidly didn't register with the above license and Electoral Role? Thank you. Sadly my excuse to retify can not be a family illness and relief of moving house before Christmas. Thank you if poss.....

They won't have checked your credit score (it's not a real thing and they can't see it). They'll have checked your credit files. But what do you mean by only partially checked?

Speak to TalkTalk to find out why the order has been cancelled. It's not clear form your post whether your application was declined or if it was a technical issue.

Your TV licence has nothing to do with it, though not being on the ER can be an issue.
  • Thank you for your reply. Talktalk had no records of my order. They were having probs with getting info on their computer though. Curry's said about my credit score, which they may have meant credit checks done by Talktalk. I did google and it appears not being on the Electroral register at the time may have been an issue?
  • Ignore what anyone says about checking your score. It’s not real.

Being on the ER helps a great deal

Thank you. Yes, thought it must be that. I will wait a few weeks and try again.
  • Yes, all fine with my Credit check!! It was do with me not updating the Electoral Register when I moved house recently! :-)
  • Thanks You for the info
