I pad problem connecting to internet

Hello, over the last couple of weeks my iPad model MPGW2B/A is being a real pain in that it won't connect to the internet every time I want it to. I think it has recently up dated the operating system to 12.1.1. I wonder if this could have a glitch in it? When I search for a site the little wheel in the top left of the screen just whirls round and then eventually says cannot find the server.
I have an older iPad mini which while it is slow it will connect and so will my Apple Macbook Air.
I have switched it off and on again, done a hard shut down, pulled out the yellow cable from my Talk Talk router, waited for 15 seconds then plugged back in again, this does help for a while but then it all goes down hill again.
It is very frustrating but because the other devices work ok it has to be something with the iPad rather than my internet connection.
Any suggestions what I can try to do next.
Thanks

Have you tried going to settings Wi-Fi and check it is trying to connect your network?4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Aint no sunshine ☀️ Octopus gas fixed dec 24 @ 5.74 tracker again+ Octopus Intelligent Flux leccy0

There is a tick at the left hand side of the Talk Talk network line with the
wi fi symbol and the padlock. On the left hand side the airplane mode is off and below that Wi Fi Talk Talk is bright blue so I guess this means it is connected.0 -
I have told it to forget this network and joined again.
What is IPV4 address and IPV6 address? Under IPV6 address it has IP address and 2 addresses? is that correct?0 -
Not an iPad user so I can't pinpoint the problem. If you see numbers under IPv4 or IPv6, make sure you are using the 'Auto' settings (including in the DNS section).
If you, or someone or something else, has changed the IP on your iPad to one that is not compatible with your network, nothing will work. If that's the case, let the router give a proper address to the iPad by setting everything as 'Auto'.0 -
Just for anyone else’s information in the future, doing a hard shut down and leaving it shut down overnight seems to have rectified my iPad problem. It’s connecting to the internet ok just now. I have usually just closed the cover at night and this apparently just puts it to sleep! Who knew!0
