Best Cat Deterrents!

Been trying to keep cats off conservatory roof using various methods without success!

The reason i want them off is cos they are leaving muddy paw prints all over the show and it is looking disgusting as a result. I'm fed up of cleaning it so i am on the look out for humane deterrents.

Currently trying chicken wire wrapped around the top of the fence which get's them up with the idea they won't like the feel underfoot.

I did consider the polypropylene spikes on Amazon and Ebay but the ratings are a bit dodgy looking.

Water pistol sensor things need to be connected to as supply so would rather try something less hassle.

Any advances on chicken wire?

We use (plastic) prikka strips on top of the greenhouse, to stop the wood pigeons from sitting on the apex and using the roof as a latrine. They're not as deadly as they look - and a strip along your fence should deter your marauding moggies without hurting them.

Other than that, the best cat deterrent ..... is to have one of your own!

The only thing that puts them off is to make things unstable for them. To make a barrier that is floppy and falls over and scares them, and springs back up

That's disgusting. Bear in mind that should you be cruel to animals in this country, you will prosecuted. This isn't the Third World.

Hook it up to the mains?

Perhaps you should hook yourself up to the mains.

So you’re disgusted at the thought of hooking a cat up to the mains but then suggest hooking a human up to the mains?

Some people display a sense of levity in threads such as this, so so interpreting what they say literally may be inappropriate. ;)
