Thanks very much KeithP. Is anybody able to help with my remaining N244 questions? Listed again below:
“Name of Court” field - Will this be Northampton County Court?
Claimant’s name & Defendant’s name (including ref.) - I can put in the names, but what are the “ref.”s in question?
Question 8 - “What level of Judge does your hearing need?” - Does this remain blank as the hearing won’t be going to High Court or a District Registry?
Question 9 and 9a - “Who should be served with this application?” - Should I add anything here?0 -
I have read the guidance however it doesn't discuss the "Name of Court" or the Claimant/Defendant fields (as I said, I have no idea what the "ref." is that they're asking to be included).
My remaining questions relate to points 8 and 9 on the N244 which are discussed briefly in the guidance:
"Question 8
If your case is being heard in the High Court or a District Registry please indicate whether it is to be dealt with by a Master, District Judge or Judge." - I just want to clarify whether my case is being heard in High Court or a District Registry?
"Question 9
Please indicate in the box provided who you want the court to send a copy of the application to, and their address for service." - While that initially seems helpful (my plan was to provide Parking Eye's address), the N244 form has this alongside question 9:
"9. Who should be served with this application?
9a. Please give the service address, (other than details of the claimant or defendant) of any party named in question 9." - Which means I'm now interpreting question 9 to be used only for parties other than the claimant or defendant, in which case I would leave it blank.
I hope you can understand my confusion. Given the importance of getting these submitted correctly I wanted to make sure I had confirmation from the community before trying to wing it.0 -
It will be in neither, but a county court. The correct answer is District Judge, I believe
Yes, 8 is for claimants address
9 you leave blank.0 -
Thanks nosferatu1001, does anyone what the ref. is for either the Claimant name or Defendant name or, alternatively, where I should look to find them?
Also, by putting the name of court as "Northampton County" on my N244, would this mean any further court hearings will take place in Northampton?0 -
There is no ref that I am aware of. Its why they put that in parens - its not arequirement but helpful.
No, of course it wont. As you will have seen, if your set aside is accepted and the claimant requests a hearing, a DQ is sent out and you pick your local court.0 -
Please be aware that Northampton County Court is a different establishment to the County Court Business Centre in Northampton.0

!!!!!!, sent everything off about 10 minutes before your post! I've sent everything to the CCBC (whom the CCJ is with) but I referenced Northampton County Court in my WS and N244 - do you think this will be a problem?0
-
if Northampton is your LOCAL county court then you are fine , post #27 mentioned abut the DQ where you pick your local court
if it is Blackpool or Durham then you have a problem, due to the geographical difference
ideally you want your LOCAL county court, because the CCBC is not a court and just happens to be in Northampton, which also has a county court at a different location
they could have given jobs to Belfast and located it in Northern Ireland, or Derry for example , or Carlisle , or Swansea like the DVLA ,seeing as its just a government office manned by civil servants
google your LOCAL county court for civil cases, that is where you want it0 -
Hi all, a quick update.
I received a letter from my local county court earlier this week confirming that my hearing is on the 11th Feb! What official documents will I need to prepare in readiness for it?0
