apcoa disabled parking charge.

My wife parked at gloucester railway station back in May, she was going to London for a one night stay. she has a blue badge so pressed the appropriate buttons on the ticket machine etc.In July she gets a parking charge from APCOA. She appealed to POPLA and was refused and passed to a dept agency which has just sent out a collection letter. She did contact APCOA and the reason given was she didn't get another ticket for her second day of parking, this means APCOA expect you to travel all the way back to your car from wherever and put another ticket on. She is now worried sick, she's not well anyway, all the numbers given for reply on their letters just have some stonewalling effort on the end saying she has to pay. Unfortunately she isn't on this site and didn't know what a scam this lot are. Any thoughts.

    She is now worried sick,

No need to worry, private parking companies can do very little to enforce tickets issued under Contract Law on land covered by Railway Bye-laws, but, unless you have already done so, do not tell them who was driving.

Read some some of the many Indigo/APCOA bye laws threads on here and the stickies/FAQs above and complain to your MP.

Debt collectors have absolutely no powers except to send you poor quality bog paper.

Ignore them. Post 4 of the NEWBIES explains why it is safe to do so.

Assuming railway byelaws apply at this car park, the whole thing will time out after six months.
CRAPCOA can't take anyone to court where byelaws apply, and they can't pass your details to the landowner or train company without breaching data protection regulations.

It's only APCOA. No-one panics about them, or pays them!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
