Praise for Jet2 Holidays

Booked a summer holiday last night. Somehow I managed to enter my partners first name as just an initial, rather than the whole name.

Phoned up their call centre this morning - name changed with no problems or admin charges, amended holiday confirmation emailed out while I was on the phone, and to top it all a very pleasant and helpful person on the other end of the line.

Excellent service (especially compared to some airlines)!

We had the same experience with Jet2 holidays last year.

I booked a week-end break in Amsterdam - who knew that there were two hotels with the same name (same chain)? - one in the city centre the other on the outskirts.

Phoned up the next day within 24 hours of making the original booking and all changed with minimal fuss.

Will definitely book again with them.

It's good that they've done it without a fuss, but I think most airlines will make changes to correct errors in the first 24 hours, as long as the booking was made with them rather than through a 3rd party. I'd suspect that many complaints come from people who have done the latter and find that the process isn't as simple (or even possible at all in some cases).

I think you'll find that airlines like Ryanair will charge you regardless of how you booked (and possibly regardless of how quickly you notify them - next day? Forget it. Within an hour? Maybe they'll waive the amendment charge).

I've noticed that they do check-in at the hotels as well rather than the free for all you normally get at the airport on the way home.

And although I've never needed to do it myself (with Ryanair or any other airline) I'm fairly sure that I've seen reports on here that Ryanair will indeed make minor changes free of charge (although you culd be right about the reduced timescale for noticing the error).

+1 Jet2. I've also found their customer service people very good if I've ever had a problem with a booking.

Another recommendation for Jet2 Holidays here. I have a holiday booked with them for later this year. A few months ago, I had quite a major issue with my email account, which resulted in many emails being deleted without trace, including my booking confirmation for my holiday. I had no physical record of the booking details anywhere, and as such I was a little concerned about being able to manage the booking etc.

I called Jet2’s Customer Services, who were extremely helpful and resent my booking confirmation straight away upon request after confirming the travel dates, passenger names etc. While I can appreciate that this is something that I expect every airline would be able to facilitate, I did notice particularly how friendly, helpful and reassuring the staff at Jet2 were when I spoke to them.

I like and have used Jet2 holidays many times. This last weekend I was wishing to book a holiday for September and priced up packages on Jet2 and First Choice. The price difference was considerable. As much as £125 per person more with Jet2 for a comparable holiday. As I say, I like Jet2 but not that much!

Maybe they'll price-match if you call them?

PS - looks like agrinnall has landed on the naughty step. ;)

    That’s not actually true.

I realise everyone likes to abuse Ryanair but they do give you 24 hours to correct any name mistakes for free.
