and just to add to the mix, the so-called easy solution is actually fraud, so I would not even contemplate it.

What evidence does the OP provide along with his FIT application that he is the owner of the solar array? Normally, they expect confirmation of payment in full (ie; a receipt). Confirmation of the property purchase will presumably be dated back to the date of legal completion.

I see that there are reports in the Press today that the Government is consulting on a new export payments scheme. Might be worth waiting imho.

I was also wondering about that too, but didn't want to rip Crowman's so called 'easy' solution to bits even further.

My thought was that a paid invoice for the install now has to be provided, so the installer would also have to issue one of those, thus causing all sorts of tax/VAT issues for the end of year accounts.

    @ all - thanks guys. :)

The OP believes it was never registered? Has it been?

I have an unusual situation here and hoping someone can help. I've recently purchased a property with solar panels, installed by the property developer back in 2013. The person who purchased the property before me, never registered for the Feed-in Tariff !

Person selling his house with solar panels, doesn't want to lose the money from his solar panel FIT, so when he sells, he just tries to blag it by saying that they were never registered.
    Sound plausible?

Hiya, just to be clear, my discussion with Crowman was about the registering of the PV install with the DNO, not with a FiT provider.

The installer has to notify the DNO as part of their job, requirements and commissioning procedures. The FiT registration is the responsibility of the homeowner, though many installers offered to help (I believe).

In that situation, the buyer’s solicitor has failed to carry out the proper pre purchase checks. I sold my home in July last year - with PV Solar - and I had to complete a very detailed questionnaire about the panels from the buyer’s solicitor, along with confirmation of ownership; the MCS Certificate; guarantees etc.

I would surprised if the OP didn’t purchase the property knowing that the array had not been registered for FIT payments.

I have to express surprise at the fact the system was never registered.

Makes no sense - my solution is still the best on the table OP despite the naysayers. They probably all bend the rules to suit themselves on the quiet but morph into choir boys when they get behind their keyboards.

Separately where are the silly install prices 'experts' on here bang on about. I was told I should only pay £500 per Kw installed - the garage could stand just under 3Kw placed on it and I have saved up £1500 to get the job done. Come on installers step forward - orderly mind.

Again that's unnecessarily rude. If your solution is possible, 'easy' and the 'best', then why have you declined to explain how the DNO registration issue is dealt with, nor provided me with evidence that the OP stated no such registration has taken place.

I suspected this was what was behind your insults. For a year or so, you have posted on numerous threads asking for PV advice that prices were no longer falling, and that all of us were wrong.

Pretty much on every single occasion other posters came along and gave evidence to show you were entirely wrong, and the OP's later found better deals than they had started with, some I found surprisingly good value.

I suspect the reason you keep bringing this issue up, is that you fail to check back each time, and note that you are completely wrong - thus learning from your mistakes.

Regarding your £500 per Kw(sic) installed claim, could you provide a reference please? I would argue that PV panels are now available at about £500/kWp, and that 'additional' PV to a planned install should be around £1k/kWp as many costs are fixed, but I don't recall claims of £500/Kw(sic) installed.
