And sorry will thank when im a little less manic and calm down, I worked out my problem as found a youtube video, I was misunderstanding the wording of self drilling etc, I was making my own hole for the fitting, then putting the anchor in and using screwdriver attachment to drill using the anchor, I feel stupid! Of course I am going to fill in the mistakes I made on door, luckily bar the holes on the internal side of door the outside is unnoticable.

So, now you know how not to do it!! Well done - we all started somewhere!!

I used large 3M Command hooks on a hollow door in a rented house. They stayed on for years, and held dressing gowns etc no problem.

One of the things you realise very soon with all "hollow fixings" is that the fixings themselves are really strong. The limitation is what the fixing is to.
So hollow door fixings are OK for a dressing gown or something, but I wouldn't expect to hang several coats on them long term.
Likewise with PB fixings for walls, I'd prefer to sink a batten or piece of ply into the surrounding PB, screw into the studs, or screw into the blockwork behind, and then fix whatever to that.
Big loads, especially if they stick out from the wall and so pull "out" of the wall, may be OK, on the other hand you don't really know how strong that particular bit of PB is. . .

I have fixed a thin piece of plywood to hollow doors with glue and small screws and then fixed the hooks to that in the normal way. It takes a bit of time as you have to paint the wood, but if you are putting say fours hooks, it is something to consider. It has stayed up for years BTW.

PS. you need to sand the surface of the door under the board down to the bare wood before sticking the board to it. Probably not one for the novice but as I say is effective.

After a few more fails I am near sorted now, I attached the hanger to wall, first time made too big holes, this time made smaller ones so it grips and not loose at all.

I really should of done a short DIY course first.
