Paying back existing Budgeting Loans after moving to Universal Credit

As the title says, I’m concerned about how I’m going to pay back the existing Budgeting Loans I had (about £700 altogether) while I was on ESA and being paid fortnightly. Before they would be taken from my ESA payments until they were paid up, but as of this week I’ve moved to Universal Credit and now I’ll be getting my first payment on the 9th of February.
I’m also concerned about my Welsh Water bill as that was also deducted from my ESA payments automatically.
If anyone else also had existing budgeting loans and moved to Universal Credit, I would appreciate it if you could tell me what happened.
Thank you in advance.

Hi KeedK, have literally just done this and they've just transferred the payments across to the Universal Credit claim so my first payment came through December 31st and in the breakdown it showed how much they've paid off of the Budgeting Loan from it. I did call the Social Fund people just to double check (I worry about stuff!) and it's all fine at their end as well - the payments just keep going out until it's paid off, if I have a problem with repaying that amount I can contact them and so on.
I don't know what will happen about your water bill but I've been ringing and/or emailing through the whole five weeks of my claim going through and every question I've had has been answered and put my mind at rest
For us the process has actually gone pretty smoothly; I know a lot of people have had a terrible time with it so I was dreading it but it's been fine and, like I say, staff have been happy to answer questions and double check numbers with me.
Hope that helps a little
