Final Bill for electric

In June I left Npower and switched to bulb. Months later Npower said my final bill with them was £724, which I queried. Turns out the readings given for electric when Ieft were wrong. So when I rung in October (after they took it out of my bank without even sending a letter through the post) the lady I spoke to told me to take 3 meter readings from my eletric meter over a weeks period ring back up with them and they could pass it to a team who would work out an average usage for my electric and bill me a correct final bill for me to pay. No one ever got back to me and I started getting letters asking to pay £724 so I rang in December, gave the same information as last time and was told a team would look into and get back to me within 30days. This hasn't happened and now I'm getting letters sent to an address I no longer live at saying if I don't pay it will be passed to a debt collection agency.
I am constantly getting fobbed off by npower, either saying someone will sort it and be in contact or just getting cut off when I ring up or not someone not even replying. I need help or advice on what to do next as I'm at my whits end, completely stressed which is now making me poorly.

You should follow their complaints procedure, which would now be to put it in writing to the escalated complaints team. Be factual, and give dates and the meter readings that they asked for.
Out of interest what was the situation with bulb. What meter readings did they open / close their account with? The normal procedure is for them get the readings verified and to advise the previous supplier.0 -

Welcome to MSE.
The supplier does not have to send a letter through the post before taking money, but must provide advance notice if paying by direct debit.
Anyway, it seems you paid what was owed, so why do you still owe this money?
I do hope you return to MSE (3 minutes really wasn't long enough was it - creating a new user account probably took longer than the time you hund around these quarters), as at the moment your post doesn't make sense to me, sorry, and I'd hate for Judge Judy to make her comment.0 -
